Name of
the project: CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES TO THE TSUNAMI VICTIMS
*USLSNY plans to team up with 'JANASARANA', to build 50 houses
in Kahawa area near Seenigama (close to Galle). This is the
place where the train was caught for the tsunami tidal waves and
took hundreds of lives.
*Beneficiaries of this project would be the families who lost
their home in this particular area.
*Each house would cost around SLRS. 250,000.00

United Sri Lanka Society of New York
teamed up with the Jana Sarana program in Sri Lanka to build houses in
Sri Lanka. USLSNY donated the first house which was handed over to a
family in the Kahawa village on March 31st, 2005. USLSNY wish to thank
every one who made donations to make this possible
